Cart-Away All-in-One Portable Batch Plant
Cart-Away Concrete Systems is well know for our innovative approach to solving concrete mixing problems. But the real innovators are the people who adapt their Cart-Away portable batch plant to meet their specific needs.
One of these great innovators is Grounds Care in New City, New York. They do several sidewalk repairs per week and needed a self-contained portable concrete batch plant to provide ready-mix at the job site.
Their solution combined the TopLoader conveyor system with a 1.75-yard skid mixer from Cart-Away. 
They mounted this batching system on a large flatbed trailer, along with tanks for mixing and clean-up water. They also added an extra conveyor system to move raw materials up to the TopLoader belt above the portable concrete mixer.
This set-up allows them to roll up to a site and batch ready-mix concrete using the sand and gravel stored on the deck of their flatbed truck. The aggregates and the cement are introduced at the bottom of the long conveyor and move up onto the second conveyor mounted to the top of the Cart-Away portable batch plant. The material then travels through the diverter and into the mixing drum to create ready-mixed concrete.
Once they have a batch of wet concrete mixed, they tilt down the drum and dispense into a discharge chute or directly into a concrete buggy to move to the forms.
Grounds Care has found this creative use of a Cart-Away portable batch plant saves significant time and money. They no longer pay short-load fees or get charged for stand-by time. By controlling their own production they have improved their scheduling and reduced headaches.
