The project still needs concrete, but no ready-mix truck is coming.

Stop Trying to Bring the Ready-Mix Truck With You
Traditional ready-mix works because roads connect a batch plant to a project, but remote construction breaks that model. Once a project moves far enough away from established infrastructure, the question changes from “When can the truck arrive?” to “Can a truck get here at all?” That is where off grid concrete mixing changes the equation.
Instead of designing the entire pour around access for a conventional truck, a portable batching or mixing system can be positioned where the work is actually happening. Materials can then be brought to the site in a way that makes sense for the location and mixed as needed.
For contractors already accustomed to controlling their own schedules, that provides another major advantage: control. With on-site production, operators can control batch size, mix design, labor costs, production timing, and overall ready-mix expenses rather than waiting for an outside ready-mix delivery. CUBE: When Concrete Has to Fly

Some projects are beyond the reach of roads entirely, and that is where our CUBE systems provide a different approach to concrete production. The CUBE 150 is a compact 1½-yard portable batching system that can be transported by flatbed, trailer, crane, barge, train, tracked machine, telehandler, shipping container, or even helicopter. Four-corner lifting points and dual fork pockets provide multiple ways to move and position the system. Once on site, its onboard material-loading conveyor supports loading, mixing, and dispensing within the system, with production of approximately 6 to 8 yards per hour using a specific mix design.
When greater batch capacity is the priority, the CUBE 300 expands the concept into a versatile 3-yard system. Its rugged skid framework includes fork pockets and a tilt-to-dump drum, while loading can be configured around the project with options such as a top-loading conveyor or batching funnel. Depending on the setup, materials can also be loaded using super sacks or a tractor bucket.
Whether the challenge is airlifting a mixer into a remote location or establishing higher-capacity production for a mine, military site, infrastructure project, or isolated development, the principle is the same: adapt the concrete system to the site instead of forcing the site to accommodate conventional ready-mix delivery.
Military-Proven Concrete Production for Extreme Environments

Remote construction takes on another level of complexity when the project is supporting a military or government operation. Equipment may need to travel over rough terrain, operate independently of local infrastructure, and produce concrete exactly when and where it is needed. That is why we have developed portable skid-mount concrete mixers that combine material loading, mixing, and dispensing into one rugged system.
Our SBCM-125 Portable Skid-Mount Mixer is designed for these demanding applications. The system has a 1.25-cubic-yard drum, an 80-gallon water tank, a Kubota diesel engine, hydraulic controls, and tandem off-road Timbren axles. Its removable trailer allows the mixer to be transported into position and then detached for stationary operation using built-in lifting jacks and stabilizers. For sites where a permanent or higher-volume setup makes more sense, the system can also be configured with our Remote Builder and CUBE options for fixed-site operation.
The real advantage is having the concrete-production process contained within one portable platform. Aggregate can be loaded onto the integrated conveyor with a bucket loader, while cement is introduced through the bag-breaker system. Materials travel into the self-mixing drum, where concrete is produced on demand, and the hydraulic discharge system allows the finished material to be placed where it is needed. An integrated washdown system helps simplify cleanup when the work is finished. Instead of depending on a ready-mix truck reaching the site, crews bring the means of production with them.
We also build these systems around the realities of working in demanding environments. Safety cage interlocks, emergency stops, operator guarding, hydraulic controls, off-road running gear, and tool and accessory storage are incorporated into the platform. Optional extended conveyors, cold-weather equipment, and other configurations allow the system to be adapted to the mission and operating environment.
For military operations, government projects, remote contractors, and other crews working beyond conventional concrete-delivery routes, that combination provides something especially valuable: independent concrete production at the point of need. The same equipment can be transported, set up, loaded, mixed, and used to dispense fresh concrete without building the project around the schedule or accessibility of a ready-mix supplier.
Military-Proven Concrete Production for Extreme Environments

Concrete delivery becomes far more difficult when a jobsite is beyond paved roads or inside a space too tight for a conventional ready-mix truck. Steep grades, soft ground, narrow access routes, backyards and remote locations can prevent traditional equipment from reaching the pour. Our U-Cart Tracked Mixers overcome those limitations by bringing concrete-production capability directly to the jobsite.
Built on rugged crawler undercarriages, these mixers provide the traction, stability and maneuverability needed to cross uneven terrain. Remote Concrete Is an Access Problem First
Choosing a remote site concrete mixer should start with a simple question: What is stopping concrete from reaching your pour?
If there is no road at all and equipment needs to be airlifted, craned, forked, or containerized, start with the CUBE 150. Its compact 1½-yard format and multiple transportation options make it especially suited to highly isolated locations. If the site can accommodate a larger system and you need greater batch capacity, consider the CUBE 300. Its 3-yard capacity and configurable loading options make it a strong fit for larger remote operations where concrete demand is higher.
